As a small brand with big dreams, it is our mission to continuously improve our processes: always opting for more sustainable methods. Since Day 1, our mission has always been to help the people around us as best as we can. To be conscious of the choices we make and the impact on the world around us.
We continuously strive to use LOULOUROSE as a force for good in all ways. We believe in sustainability, transparency, and giving back to our people and our local communities.
Lastly, we strive to be a nationally-recognized homegrown brand that is proudly #madeinmedan.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS & PRODUCTION
Sustainable business practice is very important to us. As of 2017, we commit to only using recycled precious metals. Using recycled precious metals will cut carbon emissions by two thirds for silver and more than 99% for gold. One of the key benefits to the environment is the considerable reduction in water use as a result of less mining.
We strive to to offer fine jewelry without the high environmental and ethical costs. That’s why we only work with 100% recycled gold, reclaimed from previously owned jewelry pieces and electronic waste.
LIVELIHOOD OF ARTISANS
Each month we provide each of our jewelry artisan a package of staple household necessities otherwise known as paket sembako such as rice, sugar, salt and cooking oil in hopes to relieve their monthly expenses. 2020 was a difficult year for us but even with the devastating effect of the pandemic, we are fortunate to survive without having to lay anybody off. This difficult year made us more aware of the importance of health. At LOULOUROSE we implement healthy working hours and resting time in between for our jewelry artisans. In addition to that, we also provide each artisan a monthly supply of multivitamins.
DONATIONS TO LOCAL CHARITIES
Ever since our conception in 2015 we have donated monetarily to charities we believe in. We donated IDR10,000,000 monetarily to Medan Animal Rescue, Medan's first not-for-profit dog and cat rescue shelter.
At the height of COVID-19 in 2020, we helped to procure protective equipments (APD) such as KN95 masks, surgical masks, UV boxes, surgical gloves, cloth masks, hazmat suits and other protective gears for organisations such as Bidan Eka Sri Wahyuni and Orangutan Haven in Medan, Sumatera Utara.
We pledge to continue our efforts to help those around us. And this is all made possible with your help.
A SAFE & SUPPORTIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
We keep a small team that are made up of women and together we always aspire to grow into better individuals. We took calligraphy classes, went to a tea-appreciation session, learnt farming and assisted a local farmer to plant butternut squash. Some days we go for manicure sessions. Oh, and free jewelry is always a good perk too.
